PAPEP's Impact
PAPEP’s impact consists of generating political interaction with and among key actors on political strategic issues. The interaction is fostered at the time when the players are making the decisions that will influence the future. PAPEP’s work in Latin America and the Caribbean has had a direct impact in four areas: Crisis Prevention and Management, Democratic Dialogue Promotion, Institutional Reform and Public Policies Formulation and Implementation, and UN/UNDP Strategic Planning. Recently the project has led to positive impacts in all these areas in different countries of the region.
In the Crisis Prevention and Management area the PAPEP fostered successful political interaction amongst strategic political actors in situations where it was clear that the absence of political agreements and dialogue could have led the countries to serious crises. The most recent action of this kind was carried out in El Salvador in 2009
