PAPEP Expands its Knowledge Network
PAPEP Expands its Knowledge Network
The Political Analysis and Prospective Scenarios Project (PAPEP) working jointly with the Maryknoll Center, held a workshop with different organizations and institutions working, not only in the region, but also at a global level, and that also share certain objectives. This refers to REOS Partners, AVINA Foundation and International IDEA (as well as the organizers of the Regional PAPEP (UNDP) and Maryknoll Center.

On the basis of the participation of the different institutions and under the logic of complementarities, ideas emerged where knowledge and experience were united to achieve joint action agendas and five lines of work with relevant goals for the region.
Within the lines of work, the creation of a multi-focus training program for social change was proposed, born with the idea of transcending the type of individual results better achieved up to the moment by the participating institutions tending to achieving greater and improved impact with integrated work, substantiated in innovative forms of promoting institutional transformations, and above all, social transformations. In this manner, the idea is to train a cadre of high-level professionals, deepening knowledge, with the use of three tools: participative preparation of scenarios Change Lab, and U Theory. Likewise, on the basis of an action-research approach, integrating said theoretical sessions with application of knowledge developed in the different concrete progresses of analysis, dialogue and social-political transformation is being planned, where the students themselves may participate and lead said initiatives.

The work initiative with these institutions has opened a great quantity of entry foci for working in the region. All participant institutions coincided in saying that there is a great deal to learn from the experiences in other regions, but the also reaffirmed the idea that Latin American has a great deal of knowledge to be exported to the world. This experience has allowed the expansion of the PAPEP’s knowledge network, already consolidated, and the project ensures that the initiatives proposed will constitute, in the near future, great successes for the region and the world.
